DSL & Monitored Phone Alarm Setup Recommendations
DSL Connection and Monitored Phone Alarm
Alarm systems can interfere with your DSL connection. DSL can interfere with the normal operation of your Alarm. Take the following steps to ensure both the Alarm and DSL are working correctly.
- Prior to installing the DSL modem you should contact your alarm company to verify the alarm is working correctly.
- Turn the Alarm Off (you may have to contact the alarm company for this).
- Install Digiweb DSL modem per instructions supplied.
- Make sure the DSL connection is working properly. Troubleshoot any problems or contact Digiweb Support.
- Have the Alarm turned back on. (you may have to contact the alarm company for this).
- Make sure your PC / Computer is connected to the Internet via your Digiweb Broadband connection.
- Contact the alarm company and request an alarm test.
- During the test surf the Internet and check that your broadband connection is working correctly.
- When the alarm test is successful and your computer remains connected, no further action is required.
- When the alarm test is successful, but your DSL is disconnected, do the following:
- Repeat the process to make sure the alarm system is the cause of the problem.
- Contact the alarm company to resolve the issue by filtering the alarm and then repeat tests to ensure both the DSL and Alarm are working correctly.
