Tooway Satellite Broadband Setup
This document will inform you of the initial setup information that may be required after the installer has completed your installation.

The Tooway satellite modem has the following LED's / lights:
- PWR – Indicates that power is supplied to the satellite modem
- Rx- Indicates that the modem is synching (connecting) or synched (connected) to the satelitte network
- Tx- Inidcates that the modem is transmitting data
- LAN- Indicates that there is a PC or alternative device (e.g. Router) connected to the satellite modem.

General Set-up – Configuring your PC to use Satellite Broadband
Your system should be ready to go, if not please complete the following steps:
Ensure that your PC / Laptop is set to obtain its TCP/IP settings automatically or by DHCP.
For Windows XP: click on Start à Control panel à Network and Internet à Network Connections à Right click on Local Area Connection, Click Properties à Double CIick on Internet Protocol and set to "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS automatically".
If you have no Local Area Connection under Network Connections, please ensure you have a Network Card and that it is installed correctly.
For Windows Vista: click on Start à Control Panel à Network and Internet à Network and Sharing Center à Manage Network Connections à Right click on local area connection, click Properties à double click on "Internet Protocol v4" and set to "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS automatically"
For Windows 7: click on Start à Control Panel à Network and Internet à Network and Sharing Center à Click "Change adapter settings" à Right click on Local Area Connection à click Properties à double click on Internet Protocol v4 and select "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS automatically"
Once you have completed the above, you should ensure that the Satellite Modem is switched on and connected to your PC's Network Card using the supplied Ethernet cable (the Satellite Modem's LAN light should be ON).
Disabling Dial-Up Settings
If you have previously been using Dial Up to access the Internet, you are required to configure your browser settings.
For Internet Explorer: Click Tools à Internet Options à Connections, select "Never dial a connection".
Click LAN Settings. In this section ensure "Automatically detect settings" is the only box checked / ticked.
For all other Browsers: each read its network connection settings from Internet Explorer. Please follow the above instructions for Internet Explorer.

Tooway FAP – Fair Access Policy
The Tooway Fair Access Policy is designed to ensure that excessive usage by a few customers on the network does not negatively impact on the normal usage of other customers.
The different service packages have been tailored to fit the varying requirements of Home and Business users.
